Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) 2010/2011 academic year to receive 4472 new students are 3168 students in undergraduate education strata (S1), 1400 master degree or postgraduate students, and 204 doctoral students’ education. Rector of ITB, Prof.. Ahmaloka, Ph.D. mentioned, the new students came from various regions in Indonesia and overseas. This means that ITB has become a national university began to manifest itself as an international or global university.

“Students from as many as 34 international who continued his studies in pharmacy school, ITB,” he said.

ITB new students accepted through several channels, such as the search test interests, talents and potentials (PMBP-ITB) in the area conducted in March 2010, PMBP-centered ITB held in May, the national college entrance selection country (SNMPTN) months of June, and selection of international students (SMI) ITB July. Also held that the partnership selection also includes the selection of domestic partnership program in March and the selection of students to transfer (SMT) May 2010 ITB.

“We also received a student scholarship program selection through national science olympiad, scholarship interest in astronomy education, meteorology, oceanography, malurgi engineering, engineering physics, fine arts and crafts, as well as educational scholarships and living expenses,” he explained.

New students are still dominated by graduates of upper secondary school (high school) from Jakarta, West Java and Banten, which reached 65.7%. This number is down 7% compared to last year which reached 70.7%.
